* From French revolution- seating arrangement of 'Estates General' in 1789.

Left winger are mostly pro change in the ancient system and old social norms. You must see In French revolution king was going on whatever he wanted he used to do. They wanted to change that. That have been continuing till today. These are the most basic quality of left wing [pro change and liberal].

* Conservatives
* Nationalist
* Republicans
They were social conservative and Economic liberalism.
Right winger are liberal in economic activities they prefer free market trade unless he fell but in the social matter policies they conservative .they against for abortions and same sex marriages . It's not necessary they like this. This is general idea about right winger.

All the knowledge I have given is general idea about these ideologies. This is mostly applicable in USA and France. But in INDIA it has some problems.
* congress is left party yet they brought in LPG ( Liberalisation, Privatisation and Globalisation) in 1991.
* BJP is right wing party no doubt but it has continued with all socialist policies that was started by congress past 50 year ago.
In India all the political parties have some extent of socialist; they have some left leaning policies .
Because they want welfare of india. India is officially welfare state.
